Sending Ads

There are several different ad types that can be submitted via SendMyAd. Please note, that each publisher site is unique and individual publishers may not accept all of the below formats.

  • Print Ads: Ads designed to be printed and run in a publication. Files must be PDF.
  • Website Ads: Ads designed to be displayed on websites. Files may be Flash, JPG, TIF, GIF, depending on the publisher.
  • eReader/iPad Ads: Ads designed to be displayed on eReaders/iPads. Files must be a ZIP archive.

Sending a Print Ad

  1. From the "Dashboard" view, select "Send Files" under "Actions" from the left column.
  2. Some publishers accept multiple ad types, if so, you may be prompted to specify the ad type; select "Print Magazine Ad".
  3. Select the publication which your ad will run within.
  4. Fill out each field listed. You can click the "?" next to each item to view additional information about what is being requested.
  5. Select the ad size from the list of ad specs. In many cases, there may be separate entries for the "Bleed" and "Non Bleed" specs. Make sure to select the ad spec that matches the design of your ad.
  6. If the publication allows you to specify a color profile in the "Ad Color" option, pick the one that is most appropriate to your ad. Some publishers have separate options for CMYK, Black and White, and Spot Color ads.
  7. Specify a Proof Type from the list of available options.
  8. Select the Issue(s) that you wish to have your ad run in. Note: you can specify multiple issues by selecting an additional issue from the drop down once the first issue you selected has been added to the list.
  9. If requested, confirm the contact for the ad under the "Contact Information" section.
  10. Click "Choose Ad"
  11. In the "Step 3 of 3" window, select "Browse For File" and select the file you wish to upload.
  12. Click "Upload".

Sending a Web Ad

  1. From the "Dashboard" view, select "Send Files" under "Actions" from the left column.
  2. Some publishers accept multiple ad types, if so, you may be prompted to specify the ad type; select "Website Ad".
  3. Fill out each field listed. You can click the "?" next to each item to view additional information about what is being requested.
  4. Select the ad type (Rich Media, Image, Tag File).
  5. Select the Unit Size which matches the file you wish to upload.
  6. Fill out the additional fields that appear below
  7. Next to "Run ad" click the calendar icons to specify the timeframe that the ad will run.
  8. If requested, confirm the contact for the ad under the "Contact Information" section.
  9. Click "Upload Ad" if you are uploading a new file, or "Retrieve Ad By Url" if you have the Url to an existing ad which you would like to process.
  10. In the "Step 3 of 3" window, select "Browse" next to each requested file type and select the file you wish to upload. Note: Some publishers require jpg, or gif "back up" images for Flash ads
  11. Click "Upload All Files".
